We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor. In this role, you will deliver high-quality psychiatric care while maintaining full control over your schedule and workload. You’ll help clients experience stability, clarity, and hope through compassionate, clinically excellent care. This is a 1099 independent contractor position designed for clinicians who want maximum flexibility and income potential. You control your schedule, workload, and availability. Light Counseling provides the infrastructure and referral flow so you can focus on patient care.
What you'll bring
- Strong clinical knowledge of psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacology
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of mental health conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a caseload in a fast-paced outpatient setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort working with diverse populations
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
- Prescriptive authority with active DEA registration
- Experience in outpatient psychiatric care
