About the role
Brakin Out Inc. is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will be at the forefront of guiding the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring effective governance, and championing our mission to provide second chances and mentorship to at-risk youth. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and impactful nonprofit, making a lasting difference in the lives of disadvantaged young people. As a board member, you will leverage your expertise in social work and your professional network to help guide our strategic direction and enhance our programs. This is a volunteer position with an estimated commitment of 10 hours per month, including quarterly board meetings and occasional events. As a board member, you'll be part of a passionate team dedicated to making a tangible impact. You'll have the opportunity to leverage your skills, expand your network, and grow personally and professionally.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience as a social worker or related role in social services.
- Strong understanding of the challenges and needs of at-risk youth and their families.
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Passionate about making a positive impact on the community.
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or resource development is a plus.
- Knowledge of non-profit governance and strategic planning is preferred.
- Previous board experience is a plus but not required.
