About the role
The Project Manager / Project Engineer (PM / PE) will manage major components of the overall project and, depending on assignment, may manage other leads managing sub-components of the overall scope of the project. The role will involve managing all aspects of sub-projects, teams executing sub-projects, or a specific scope area — which may include Engineer of Record (EOR) contractors for the Phase-1 Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant and coordination of utilities (gas, water, and communications); the EPC contractor, site logistics subcontractors, deep excavation subcontractor, and remaining site characterization; and/or major owner-supplied equipment packages (e.g., Turbine Hall/Steam Turbine, HRSG, and Gas Turbine OEM scopes) from design through commissioning — while reporting on the status and requirements. The role will require deep level cooperation and integration with the Blue Energy (BE) scope engineering leads responsible for the engineering and development of the scope of work, the principal project manager, the execution partners, the procurement team, the project controls and scheduling team, the development team, the finance team, stakeholders and the vendors and contractors hired to provide a scope of deliverables or work. The project manager / engineer will be responsible for schedule adherence and input, budget and cost monitoring, action item logging and resolution and all other activities to ensure the scope of work is completed on time and on budget. The project Manager / Engineer will be responsible for identifying roadblocks, consolidating them for the attention of the BE team and mitigating them with the full team and the Principal Project Manager. The PM / PE will be assisted in the initial understanding of the responsibilities and with setting up systems, logs, meetings, etc. to the point where the PM / PE will be the primary contact for the defined scope of work. In depth understanding of project execution and schedule development, status and adherence is central to the role. The PM / PE supports the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering, procurement, permitting, fabrication and construction of the scope of work. This role ensures technical accuracy, compliance with standards, and effective communication between project managers, contractors, and stakeholders. The PM / PE helps drive projects elements from concept through completion by managing documentation, schedules, budgets, engineering deliverables, fabrication, construction, commissioning and startup.
