About the role
Sun Power is looking for a senior java developer to join their existing team. The Spectrum application sells and manages solar panel systems. This is a high profile project for SunPower and as they plan to grow their independent dealer teams from 10 to 400 by EOY. Spectrum is a sales tool used by the sales organization to help sell solar panels. The application creates proposals, sales orders, manages leads, handles ordering and installation and is the main customer relations tool. SunPower purchased the company July 2014 and is used by all their independent dealers for sales, procurement and accounting. The original team was 4 dev and 1QA, now the team is 4-6 dev with 2 QA. SunPower has put a lot of money into making the application more scalable for hundreds of dealers they are adding and is the 2nd most important initiative for SunPower R&D. The application was architected and built 4-5 years ago and has been maintained since then. The team is going to redesign some of the application as well as add software which would allow the sales organization to add engineering documents similar to CAD. This would allow the buyer and sales person to see how the solar panels would look on a house roof. Sun Power is looking for a senior java developer to join their existing team.
