About the role
Cherokee Brick & Tile Company is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Truck Driver to transport brick products, raw materials, resale items, and production materials to customer job sites and company facilities. This position is responsible for operating commercial motor vehicles, including tractor-trailers, straight trucks, dump trailers, and tandem dump trucks, while complying with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), state, and company safety regulations.
What you'll bring
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate required.
- Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and applicable state transportation regulations.
- Ability to safely inspect vehicles, identify maintenance concerns, and properly secure cargo.
- Ability to read and understand delivery paperwork, inspection reports, shipping documents, and safety procedures.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of safety awareness.
- Previous commercial driving experience preferred.
