About the role
As a Behavior Technician at Applied Behavioral Services, you will provide structured behavioral treatment to children with autism and related developmental needs. This is not a traditional daycare, babysitting, or classroom aide position. Your work will be guided by an individualized treatment plan developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, or BCBA. You will be expected to follow that plan consistently, collect accurate data, respond professionally to challenging behavior, and use evidence-based strategies to help each student develop communication, social, behavioral, and independent-living skills.
What you'll bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience supporting children or individuals with special needs, emotional needs, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed during high-stress situations, including behavioral crises
- Ability to collect data accurately and document services consistently
- Openness to direct coaching, observation, and performance feedback
- Associate degree or higher in psychology, education, social work, human services, or a related field
- Active Registered Behavior Technician, or RBT, certification
- Current Crisis Prevention Institute, or CPI, training
- Current CPR and first-aid certification
