McNees, Wallace & Nurick is seeking an experienced Attorney to join our growing State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, with a primary focus on Maryland tax matters. This role is well‑suited for an attorney who brings deep technical SALT experience, strong client‑facing skills, and the ability to manage complex matters with a high degree of independence. As an Attorney at McNees, you’ll be an integral part of our team, working on meaningful matters and building strong client relationships. Your key responsibilities will include:
What you'll bring
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- 5+ years of experience practicing Maryland state and local tax law
- Substantial experience with sales and use tax
- Strong knowledge of Maryland SALT issues
- Admission to practice law in Maryland
- Excellent analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage matters independently
- Client‑focused mindset with strong interpersonal and business judgment skills
- Prior experience in a law firm or sophisticated professional services environment required
- multistate experience, including PA, highly preferred
