About the role
We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM), West Africa. The BDM is responsible for driving Procept Africa’s commercial growth across West Africa’s Anglophone countries—Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and The Gambia and Francophone countries—Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Benin, Togo, Guinea, Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. The BDM will lead the full business development lifecycle, including generating and qualifying leads, managing client accounts, and supporting the successful execution and delivery of client engagements. The role ensures the effective identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, the strengthening of long-term client relationships, and the seamless coordination of engagement delivery. This position is central to revenue growth, strategic partnership development, client relationship expansion, and the implementation of market-entry strategies across both priority and emerging markets.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, IT, or a related field
- a Master’s degree (MBA/MSc) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in business development, consulting sales, or professional services across West Africa.
- Proven track record in selling consulting, advisory, ISO, or training services.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders in financial institutions, central banks, government ministries, telecoms, and large corporates.
- Strong understanding of ISO standards, IT governance, ITSM, cybersecurity, and transformation services.
- Previous experience in management consulting, risk advisory, digital transformation, or capability development (advantageous).
- Ability to operate effectively across Anglophone and Francophone markets
- French proficiency is an advantage.
- Strong proposal development, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel frequently across West Africa and manage multi-country engagements.
- High degree of independence, initiative, and ability to manage long and complex sales cycles.
