About the role
This position will fill a critical role in a cross discipline Integrated Product Team (IPT) responsible for executing key deliverables including producibility improvements, non-conformance dispositions, response to field events and investigations, identification of product improvement changes and execution of class I ECs. This position will require integration between the module-owning Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs), the part responsible Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO), Asheville Operations, and Quality. You will be responsible for the execution of mechanical design engineering standard work and communicating formally and informally with CIPT and program customers. This position will also be responsible for supporting the deployment of Model Based Definition, Manufacture and Inspection (MB-DMI) at Asheville. This role is a U.S.-based role. - Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.
- Our Asheville, NC site is focused on the production of turbine airfoils for commercial and military engines.Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years relevant experience or an advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
- Turbine airfoil engineering experience.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative.
- Proficiency with GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994 and 2018.
