About the role

The City currently has a position open for a Custodian. This position performs repetitive manual work requiring efficient performance of building cleaning and maintenance duties, under general supervision on routine recurring assignments, receiving specific instructions on each new or unusual assignment.  This is a bargaining unit position and is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Standard Labor Act.  The probation period for this position is 90 calendar days.

What you'll bring

• Applicants must show a valid, government issued Picture ID for entry to the test.
• Applicants must achieve a minimum passing score of 70% on the exam.
• A high school education, or other equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Good oral communications, basic math skills, knowledge of commercial building cleaning practices, including gym floors, supplies, and equipment.
• A minimum of one-year prior experience in commercial cleaning, a valid Ohio driver’s license and an excellent driving record.
• As a condition of continued employment, must maintain driving privileges and excellent driving record.
• Failure to do so may result in discipline up to and including discharge.
