About the role

Patriot is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our waste collection vehicles and heavy-duty equipment are maintained and running smoothly. You will perform a variety of mechanical tasks on diesel engines, including diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance to ensure our fleet operates at peak efficiency. What you'll bring

• Experience: working as a diesel mechanic
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air brake systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
• Tools and Equipment: Experience using diagnostic tools, mechanical hand tools, and power tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to track and manage multiple repair projects simultaneously.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and solve mechanical problems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum vehicle availability.
• Certifications: A valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus.
