We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Quick-Commerce Global Services team in Barcelona to support the Delivery Hero Group's ecosystem with unique technologies. In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to combine Glovo's vibrant, fast-paced culture with the reach and complexity of the Delivery Hero Group, one of the world's largest local delivery platforms. You'll be part of a Central Team based in Barcelona, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable solutions that support the entire global ecosystem of the Group. You will be part of a cross-functional team focused on the onboarding and early stages of our vendors.
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with strong hands-on commercial Java and/or Kotlin experience (mandatory).
- Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems and microservice architectures in production environments.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as Kafka, SNS/SQS, or Google Pub/Sub, along with observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
- Proven experience leading technical initiatives, driving architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to engineering excellence through high code quality, automated testing, system design best practices, and excellent English communication skills.
