About the role

CNBC is seeking a sharp, experienced Weekend Editor to help lead coverage during a critical part of the news cycle. This editor will work on our newly revamped homepage Thursday through Sunday, driving fast, authoritative coverage of the biggest business, markets, technology and economic stories of the weekend. This role is based in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and reports to CNBC Digital’s Deputy Managing Editor.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of editing experience in a fast-paced digital or broadcast newsroom.
• Excellent news judgment and a demonstrated ability to lead coverage during breaking and developing news situations.
• Strong story-editing, writing and headline-writing skills.
• Broad knowledge of business, markets, technology, the economy and policy.
• Proven ability to develop compelling story angles and help reporters produce distinctive journalism.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work calmly under deadline pressure and make clear editorial decisions.
• Availability to work a Thursday through Sunday schedule.
• Experience editing business or financial news.
• Experience working across digital, video and social platforms.
• Experience working with content-management systems and homepage publishing tools.
• Familiarity with audience analytics and an understanding of how audience behavior can inform editorial presentation.
