About the role

​ ​ Day Services ​     ​ ​ Community  Based :  8:30   a.m.  – 3 : 30   p.m.   ​ ;   ​ Essential :  Some weekend and extended weekday hours  may  be required even  in  the event of inclement weather; Daily Job Site: ​   ​ Community   Based   ​ .   As an essential employee, your attendance  is  required  at work to perform essential job duties even in cases of inclement  weather,  holidays.    ​ ​ Non-exempt (hourly) ​   ​ ​ Full Time ​     ​ ​ $21.00 ​ ​ Position requires ​   ​ 3 5%  of travel ​ ​ ​     ​ ​ EPIC is an organization that  strives to develop and maintain a harmonious work environment and encourages  growth and professional development.  All EPIC team members have basic requirements  in areas such as Leadership, Team Management, and  Compliance Assurance. ​   ​ ​ The position  of CDS ​ ​ -  ​ The position of DSP in Community Development Service (CDS) provides direct support services to adult person(s) supported with intellectual challenges. The DSP supports the person(s) with community-based services that provide  person supported  with development and maintenance of skills related to community membership through engagement in community-based activities with people without disabilities. The DSP provides the person(s) with opportunities to develop skills and increase independence related to community integration, promote  positive growth  and developing general skills and social supports necessary to gain,  retain , or advance competitive integrated employment opportunities, and personal care  assistance , based on assessed need.   • ​ ​ Must have a ​   ​ high school diploma or GED ​ .      • ​ ​ Must have ​   ​ intermediate ​   ​ Microsoft ​   ​ Word ​   ​ skills. ​   • ​ ​ Must  possess  a local, valid U.S. driver’s license with no more than 3 moving violations and/or at fault accidents in the past 3 years or any major violations in the past 5  years     • ​ Must have  a  reliable vehicle with current registration and insurance that will be used to transport  adult(S)  in the community.  ​   • ​ ​   Must have the a bility to successfully pass COMAR mandated training and basic skills tests   ​   ​ ​ Soft Skills: ​   • ​ ​ Possess ​   ​ good ​   ​ creative and customer service skills. ​   • ​ ​ Must have ​   ​ good ​   ​ problem solving and critical thinking skills. ​   • ​ ​ Have ​   ​ good ​   ​ adaptability and flexibility to be effective in changing environments . ​   • ​ ​ Possess ​   ​ good ​   ​ conflict resolutions skills. ​   ​ ​ Interpersonal Skills: ​   • ​ ​ Ability to closely collaborate across all EPIC programs and departments. ​   • ​ ​ Ability to work together as a team where there is effective communication . ​   • ​ ​ Must possess ​   ​ good ​   ​ communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. ​   • ​ ​ Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in compliance with internal and external agencies rules and regulation. ​   • ​ ​ Good ​   ​ time management skills to manage one's own time and the time of others. ​   • ​ ​ Must be responsible  and take accountability for own actions . ​   • ​ ​ Physical demands as described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made. ​   • • Employee  must regularly sit, walk, talk, hear, use hand and fingers, and handle, or feel; occasionally  required  to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.   • ​ ​ Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. ​   • Vision abilities include  close , distance, color, peripheral, and ability to adjust focus.
