About the role
Title : Registered Nurse (RN) - On-Call Nights & Weekends Company: Xencare Inc. (DBA Wellpointe Hospice) Reports to: Manager of Hospice Operations The Registered Nurse (RN) – On-Call Nights & Weekends is responsible for delivering critical hospice nursing care during non-business hours. This role ensures timely clinical response to urgent patient needs overnight, on weekends, and on holidays, helping to maintain continuity and quality of care throughout the entire hospice experience. This position is ideal for an experienced hospice nurse who is passionate about patient comfort and can confidently provide care independently during on-call hours.
What you'll bring
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, including ability to make autonomous decisions in the field.
- Demonstrated empathy and communication skills with patients and families in emotional or end-of-life situations.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance (travel is required).
- Comfortable with electronic documentation and use of EMR systems.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in hospice or palliative care preferred.
- Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN) is preferred, but not required.
- Bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, or other languages spoken by our patient population are a plus.
