About the role

Mood Fabrics is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Textile Product Specialist to support the management and launch of new products on our website. This role is ideal for someone with extensive textile, fabric, fiber, and sewing knowledge who enjoys applying that expertise to product data, e-commerce operations, and product merchandising. This is not an entry-level data entry position. The successful candidate will be expected to evaluate, identify, classify, and accurately document a wide variety of fabrics and textiles. They will serve as an internal resource on fabric characteristics, fiber content, construction, and end-use applications while ensuring products are accurately represented online.

What you'll bring

  • Advanced knowledge of fabrics, textiles, fibers, fabric construction, and sewing.
  • Strong understanding of natural fibers, synthetic fibers, blends, woven fabrics, knit fabrics, and specialty textiles.
  • Experience identifying fabric characteristics, including hand, drape, stretch, weight, and end-use applications.
  • Understanding of fiber identification methods, including burn testing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets and product data.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • The ideal candidate is passionate about textiles and possesses a high level of fabric knowledge.
  • They can confidently distinguish between fabric types, understand fiber characteristics, and accurately determine appropriate product classifications and applications.
  • Success in this role requires a combination of textile expertise, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • The ideal candidate enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure products are accurately represented, properly categorized, and ready for customers to discover and purchase.
