About the role

We are looking for a senior, hands-on professional to help strengthen and evolve our control framework within a fast-paced energy trading environment. This is a high-impact role where you will partner across the business to ensure controls are robust, practical, and fit for purpose—while supporting commercial agility. You will work closely with Front Office, Risk, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Senior Management, acting as a trusted advisor and independent voice to enhance governance, risk awareness, and overall control effectiveness.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience in energy trading, commodities or wholesale environments
• Strong understanding of trading desk operations and key associated risks
• Demonstrated experience in controls, governance, risk management or internal audit roles in the energy space
• Comfortable operating at senior levels and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
• Confident communicator with the ability to challenge and influence constructively
• Strong analytical skills with experience in issue investigation and root-cause analysis
• Able to balance commercial realities with the need for strong controls
• Ability to lead projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives independently
• Fluent English
