About the role

As the Breakthrough Manchester Student Support and Wellness Coordinator, you will support roughly 100-120 high school students in maintaining a safe and productive community. You will design and implement proactive and positive social-emotional and behavioral learning strategies and establish clear and effective routines and procedures for in-person programming and remote communication. You will meet with students to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns and growth and to collaboratively establish an action plan for student development. You will also contact student families when warranted, building and fostering relationships by keeping parents and guardians in the loop around their child's overall performance at Breakthrough. You will report to Director of College Access Programs. #LI-Onsite This role requires that you work onsite one Saturday per month at our Manchester, NH campus location and pays $30/hour. This is a part-time position requiring approximately 4-10 hours per week.

What you'll bring

  • 3 Years of experience supporting high school students in social emotional development
  • Bachelor's in Sociology, Psychology, Counseling or a related field
  • Specialized knowledge: Understand the challenges facing first-generation and underrepresented students.
  • Understanding adolescent development, particularly that of high school and college students.
  • Understanding effective communication with high school and college students.
  • Must be able to successfully engage students through digital mediums and platforms in addition to critically reflecting upon in-person interactions to provide specific verbal and written feedback.
