As a Middle School Band and General Music Teacher, you will provide engaging, high-quality music instruction to students across multiple grade levels. This role focuses on developing students’ musical skills, creativity, and appreciation for music through meaningful instruction, consistent practice, and performance opportunities, while fostering a supportive and structured learning environment.

- Knowledge of child and youth cognitive development and different learning styless
- Strong knowledge of instrumental techniques (brass, woodwind, percussion) and score study
- Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies
- Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents and community
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and events
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Valid teaching license and endorsement in Instrumental/General Music K–12 (429) with the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE), or a valid Special Education teaching license and endorsement from a state that offers reciprocity with Tennessee.
- 2+ years of classroom teaching instrumental music
- Master’s degree preferred
