About the role
Stanley Consultants is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with facility design experience to join one of our offices. The Mechanical Engineer role is responsible for determining the technical approach, validating the design criteria, directing more junior staff, and performing detailed design tasks such as calculations, specifications, and drawing preparation. You will be expected to perform design duties with minimal supervision and have the ability to communicate effectively within a team environment. Ideally, we would like you to have some experience developing HVAC load calculations, energy modeling, HVAC system selection, and equipment sizing. Candidates should have some experience in applying mechanical engineering concepts, application and adherence to national codes, and means and methods for building design and construction.
What you'll bring
- You must have experience in state or federal building design, university central plants, industrial facilities, mission critical facilities, or related fields.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited four-year college
- 8+ years of relevant facility design experience
- Possess PE, or able to obtain PE within 1 year
- Background in Building Information Modeling (BIM), commissioning, energy audits, and utility master plans are a plus.
- Experience designing HVAC systems, plumbing systems, central utility plants, and mechanical distribution systems
- Experience using Trane Trace, Revit, Pipe-Flo, COMcheck, and/or BLCC software
- LEED AP BD+C credential and/or GBI Guiding Principles Compliance Professional
