About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our expanding Building Structures team in Nottingham. Our Nottingham team works closely with our other multidisciplinary teams with over 600 staff covering Building (MEP, Civil, and Structural) Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Transportation, Water, Energy, and environmental consultancy. Our Structural Engineering sector coverage is broad, including Defence, Justice, Healthcare, Education, Science, Industrial, and Client Advisory, The Senior Structural Engineer will lead and support mid-large projects from concept to handover. The successful candidate will have proven design experience and deliver on quality, time, and budget. This role will suit someone with a Structural engineering degree who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and looking to advance their career. The successful candidate will ideally be chartered or working towards chartered status. You will be exposed to and grow from the diverse range of projects and multi-disciplinary approach that AECOM can offer and will have opportunity to work across a larger AECOM team, often with national and international projects.
What you'll bring

- · Have good communication skills
- · Experience in Structural Engineering, including developing detailed design drawings and calculations, specification writing, and compiling technical reports.
- · A track record in Structural Engineering, having worked across a number of sectors, for example, Defence, Justice, Education, Commercial, Healthcare, etc
- · Experience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with Clients.
- · A track record of having delivered sustainable designs.
- · Must have knowledge of governing structural design standards Eurocodes, BS, Building Regs etc
- · A relevant Structural Engineering degree, and sufficient industry experience to allow Chartered progression
- · Chartered or with qualifications to become chartered.
- · Any Justice sector or equivalent experience would be beneficial but not essential
