About the role
The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for leading the planning, design, permitting, and execution of land development projects across commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. This role requires technical expertise, project leadership, and coordination with clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, compliant, and cost‑effective site development solutions. This position is remote/hybrid work with a preferred for this position to be worked full-time in Oak Ridge, TN. For people within 50 miles of the Oak Ridge, TN office, a hybrid option requiring a person to be in office for minimum of 50% of the week. For people outside of 50 miles, a remote option with quarterly travel to the Oak Ridge, TN office is available. For hybrid and remote work, you are required to provide and work in a secured location as approved by the company within the United States due to the projects that you will be participating in. What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum of 8–12 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on site development
- Must be able to show proof of US citizenship (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
- Strong working knowledge of site development design practices, permitting, and construction processes
- Experience with stormwater management design and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling
- Proficiency with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, HydroCAD, or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university
- Experience serving as Engineer of Record
- Demonstrated experience mentoring staff and leading project teams
- Experience with sustainable site design and low‑impact development (LID) practices
