About the role
The Mechanical Engineer V – M&P for Controllable Solid Propulsion is responsible for the evaluation and development of metallic and non-metallic materials relevant to solid rocket motor propulsion systems as well as supporting manufacturing and compliance efforts. The position reports to the Analysis and M&P Manager and is part of the Strategic Systems division based in Folsom, CA. This role is remote.
What you'll bring
- Familiarity with standards such as MIL-STD-1546 / -1547, SMC-S-009 / -010, and NASA-STD-6016.
- Familiarity with materials allowable development and test campaign development.
- Familiarity with mechanical design concepts related to high precision hardware.
- An ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
- An ability to effectively communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering or related field with 10 - 15 years of experience OR Master’s degree in Materials Science Engineering with 8 - 13 years of experience
