About the role
As a General Manager – Transmission & Distribution , you will provide executive leadership and oversight for regional operations while fostering an environment focused on safety, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitability. You will establish strategic goals in partnership with senior leadership and work closely with Regional Managers, Project Managers, and operational teams to execute those objectives. This position is ultimately accountable for regional performance, project success, financial results, resource planning, talent development, and client relationships. Success in this role requires a proven leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational execution, develop strong teams, maintain key customer relationships, and drive sustainable growth while promoting Michels Power's safety-first culture and core values.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field and 10+ years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven leadership experience managing Transmission & Distribution construction operations, utility infrastructure projects, or related EPC programs
- Demonstrated success leading regional operations, project portfolios, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of transmission and distribution construction means, methods, project delivery, resource planning, and risk management
- Proven financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, cash flow, backlog, profitability, and operational performance
- Experience leading preconstruction efforts, RFP pursuits, estimating collaboration, and strategic planning initiatives
- Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to develop teams, build client relationships, and drive regional growth initiatives
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel as required
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
- Advanced industry certifications, licenses, or credentials are preferred
