About the role
We are seeking a high-performing Senior Accountant to join our finance team at Gelato. This role is the "engine room" of our financial operations, responsible for the end-to-end accounting lifecycle. You will operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy, independently managing accounting responsibilities across a fast-paced international business. You will leverage AI and automation to streamline core processes, ensuring total accuracy in our financial data while maintaining robust regulatory compliance. We are a customer-obsessed team with the ambition to change the world by connecting technology to the printing industry and making it much more sustainable. Everyone who joins our team must feel genuinely intrigued and motivated by our mission. We expect a lot. We are a driven team with big goals, so we seek individuals who are genuinely passionate about their work and possess an entrepreneurial spirit. Our culture is unique and we live by our values, so it's worth learning more about our culture and how we work before presenting your application.
What you'll bring
- You are an experienced accountant with a hands-on mindset and a passion for building scalable financial processes.
- You bring structure to complex workflows and take pride in driving operational excellence through technology.
- You are comfortable operating in a fast-changing, international environment where priorities may shift and where there may not always be a predefined playbook.
- You are analytical, detail-oriented, and a strong collaborator who can align accounting functions with broader business objectives.
- Most importantly, you are capable of independently owning accounting responsibilities, identifying risks and gaps, and driving issues to resolution with minimal supervision.
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, CMA, or equivalent), or an experienced professional with deep expertise in accounting processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
- Proficiency or strong interest in AI and automation tools and technologies (such as Gemini, Cursor, Python, n8n, or similar).
- You do not need to be a software engineer, but you should be excited to use technology to improve accounting workflows and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex information clearly.
- Experience supporting accounting operations across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions is highly desirable.
