About the role

SteerBridge is seeking a Cloud Engineer to build and operate the AWS GovCloud infrastructure behind a mission-critical Defense Aviation platform used by federal customers. This role focuses on the day-to-day engineering of secure, automated cloud environments that host fleet readiness, maintenance, and logistics workloads. This is a hands-on role. The ideal candidate is comfortable across Linux and Windows environments, writes infrastructure as code, automates repetitive operational work, and methodically troubleshoots networking, identity, and compute issues in a regulated cloud.

What you'll bring

• 3+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
• Proficiency administering Linux and Windows systems in cloud environments
• Solid understanding of cloud networking including VPC, subnets, routing, DNS, and security groups
• Experience with IAM, least-privilege access, and cloud security fundamentals
• Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical, root-cause approach\
• Experience in AWS GovCloud or other regulated or federal cloud environments
• Familiarity with STIG hardening, DISA baselines, or DoD compliance frameworks
• Experience with EC2 Image Builder or other automated golden-image pipelines
• Experience with Amazon WorkSpaces and Active Directory-integrated environments
