About the role
Seaman Corporation is seeking a Supplier Development Analyst to join our Operations team! This position will report to the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager. The Supplier Development Analyst plays a key role in managing and improving supplier performance by ensuring that suppliers meet the established standard for quality, cost, and delivery. This position will promote excellence in supplier performance through audits and implementation of Lean-focused process improvements. The position will also seek out opportunities to reduce costs and waste with current suppliers, while also seeking out new supplier partnerships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field
- or relevant work experience required
- 3–7 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Supplier Development
- Strong understanding of chemistry principles, manufacturing processes, and quality control methods
- Familiarity with supplier quality management methods and accreditations
- Ability to identify issues, root causes, and implement corrective actions when problem solving
- Prior experience with project management
- Excellent cross functional and external communication skills
- Experience with data analysis, negotiation, regulatory compliance, and Lean processes
