About the role
Anchor Home is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and community-minded Direct Support Professional / Activities Assistant to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is highly mobile and community-based — candidates must be comfortable spending the majority of their time driving and supporting individuals out in the community , rather than in an office or facility. A major focus of this position is to help clients build relationships, engage in meaningful community experiences, and become fully integrated into the communities where they live. This includes helping clients access recreation, volunteering, education, employment, and other personalized interests.
What you'll bring
- High School Diploma or College Degree.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required (this is a driving-intensive position).
- First Aid and CPR Certification required
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a passion for supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Self-starter who is comfortable working independently in the field.
- Flexibility, patience, and a strong commitment to community inclusion.
- Certified Medication Technician (CMT) license preferred.
