About the role

Plan, oversee, organize and direct OCOM’s student services departments, which includes, admissions, student affairs, financial aid, registrar, student support (learning specialists), and behavioral health, and their associated programs and activities; ensure that assigned functions fulfill institutional goals and objectives; and supervise assigned staff.

What you'll bring

  • Previous experience as an Assistant or Associate Dean in an Osteopathic or Allopathic Medical College in student services
  • Experience in various software applications and student information systems, especially applications software specific to admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, financial aid, and statistical analysis.
  • A team player who values cooperation, mutual support, and team cohesion
  • Effective listener, able to distill complex data and information requirements from a broad range of constituents.
  • Able to proactively identify major issues and trends in health professions education that may impact OCOM.
  • Strategic and visionary thinker and problem solver
  • Understanding the importance of the interdependence and interrelationship of all student services departments in recruiting, admitting, and retaining a high-quality student population.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum oversight, attend to multiple projects simultaneously, to deliver accurate results, and meet deadlines.
  • Organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple assignments and responsibilities and moving projects efficiently from a vision point to reality.
  • Knowledge of registration policies, procedures, and practices
  • Knowledge of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act
  • Knowledge of student federal and private loans, and scholarship policies and processes
