About the role
This is an overnight position with hours 6 pm - 6 am from Thursday - Saturday. Rotating schedule of Wednesday - Saturday every other week. The Instrumentation Technician-Ozone supervises the maintenance and calibration of all NTMWD flow meters in the Water and Wastewater systems. Additionally, this position performs routine instrumentation troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair duties requiring an in-depth knowledge of industrial electrical/electronic theory. Identify instrumentation issues, troubleshoot and remedy problems using independent judgment.
What you'll bring
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum two years of experience in process control and/or measurement systems in industrial or utility environment.
- Must possess a valid Electrical Apprentice license or obtain an Electrical Apprentice license with the State of Texas within 6 months.
- Obtain certification(s) from meter manufacturer(s).
- Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of all types of meters used for flow measurement and level recording.
- Must be knowledgeable of instrumentation equipment related to water and wastewater treatment and production equipment which may include: flow meters, analyzers, PLC’s SCADA systems, ozone generators, chemical equipment, air compressors, valve actuators, motors, variable frequency drives, and various other equipment.
- Must possess knowledge of computers, software, and hardware.
- Must be proficient in the use of the District Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, blue prints, schematics, one-line diagrams and drawings.
- Must have the ability to comprehend, carry out and administer written and oral instruction.
