About the role

Mustang Cat, the authorized Caterpillar® dealer for Southeast Texas, is hiring a highly skilled Field Service Electrician to join our elite Power Systems Division in Houston, Texas. In this critical role, you’ll travel to customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain Caterpillar power generation equipment, including diesel and gas engines, switchgear, and complex electrical systems. As a Field Service Electrician, you will troubleshoot and repair CAT engine controls, electrical systems, and power generation equipment at customer locations.

What you'll bring

• Must own proper tools to perform all necessary field repairs
• Minimum 5 years’ experience troubleshooting engine controls and wiring
• Proficient with AC/DC circuits, schematics, and general mechanical systems
• Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely
• Strong understanding of Caterpillar generators, switchgear, and load bank operations
• Field service experience with diesel engines, gas compression, and PLC/HMI systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in the field
• CAT switchgear certification and CAT training
