About the role

Job Title: Senior Mechanical Designer Reports to: Manager, Mechanical Engineering Department : Engineering This position is responsible for the design, development, and verification of assigned mechanical components to include sheet-metal / machined-metal parts and assemblies. In addition, the Senior Mechanical Designer will also be held accountable for peer reviews, department mentoring, and leading small project groups.

• Advanced knowledge of 3D modeling techniques
• Significant understanding of Finite Element Analysis and computational fluid dynamics
• Significant understanding of Computer Numerical Control design requirements
• Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and systems integration
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical component industry standards
• Works well both independently and in a team environment and is willing to change priorities as needed
• Multitasking skills including the ability to work across multiple software platforms
• Use hand tools (caliper, micrometer, feeler gauge, fluid pressure meter, infrared thermal cameras, etc.)
• Inspect and troubleshoot computer related hardware components at an assembly level
• Ability to use various software programs related to engineering theory (AutoDesk inventor, AutoCAD, Ansys simulation software)
• Create, read, and compare technical data sheets
• Capable of training others in core duties
