About the role
The Senior Mechanical Estimator is a key leader within the Estimating team, responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive mechanical construction estimates for complex industrial projects. This role oversees the full mechanical estimating process—including quantity takeoffs, labor and equipment analysis, material pricing, subcontractor evaluations, and risk assessments—for projects up to $25M or higher depending on scope and self‑performance. The Senior Mechanical Estimator interprets mechanical drawings, piping and equipment specifications, isometrics, and contract documents to build detailed work breakdown structures and precise cost models. Specifically, this role will focus on estimation within the mining industry, taking on estimating for specific mining-related projects in the given region. This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
What you'll bring
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in industrial construction estimating, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Previous experience Estimating within the mining industry
- Estimating experience with Accubid, HCSS, HeavyBid, and/or HeavyJob
- Ability to read Interpret P&ID drawings and other technical schematics.
- Scheduling experience with MSP or P6.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite emphasis on Project Schedule and Excel Tracking.
- MSHA Training
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience with DesignAssist and DesignBuild delivery methods.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex bids simultaneously.
