About the role

Medical Assistant – Cardiology Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team in the Shelbyville Road area. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced providers to deliver exceptional care while building meaningful relationships with patients. Whether you’re an experienced Medical Assistant or a recent graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

What you'll bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience
• providing direct, hands-on patient care in a medical office, clinic, or similar healthcare setting, including duties such as:
• Obtaining vital signs
• Documenting patient history and medications
• Performing clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, or administering injections
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant orientation and clinical competency assessment upon hire.
• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• BAT and DOT certifications within 90 days of hire for Occupational Medicine positions.
• Current Medical Assistant certification through AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP.
• Or graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure.
