About the role

This position is responsible for the administration, oversight, and auditing of loss control programs within the SGI Ione plant to include MSHA compliance and industrial hygiene auditing of all activities.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s Degree B.S.
• Degree in Industrial Hygiene or Industrial Technology or Engineering, Mining Engineering Required
• 5+ Years safety and/or industrial hygiene in a mining environment
• Must have strong leadership skills to drive plant to a world-class health & safety culture
• Strong knowledge of MSHA regulatory environment and protocols
• Strategic and systematic in approach
• High level of organizational skills
• Solid knowledge of the management of workers compensation cases and employee care
• Solid knowledge of Environmental regulations relating to Air Quality, Stormwater, Waste, and Potable Water
• Effective communicator both verbal and written
• Skilled at hazard recognition and corrective action
• Strong accident/incident investigation skills including root cause analysis
