About the role
We are hiring a Tax Planning Assistant to support our Tax Planning Department. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong tax preparation background who wants to transition into tax planning and advisory work. You will be trained in our internal tax planning methodology and support senior advisors and our tax attorney with plan development and implementation. What you'll bring
- 2+ years of tax preparation experience
- Strong understanding of individual and business tax returns
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Interest in learning proactive tax planning (beyond compliance)
- EA or CPA (or actively pursuing)
- Experience with S-corps and partnerships
- Familiarity with tax planning tools/software
- Certification bonus: CPA $2,000
