The Role: The Maintenance Apprentice is an essential member of the maintenance team, directly reporting to the Community Manager. This role demands a high level of professionalism, effective communication, and positive interactions with both residents and staff. A proactive approach is critical to preserving the property’s appearance and ensuring its smooth operation. The successful candidate will be entrusted with various responsibilities, including performing minor repairs, efficiently managing time, and prioritizing tasks to maintain the property to the highest standards for the benefit of residents. The incumbent in this role must possess high professionalism and positive engagement for our residents and the workforce. The incumbent in this position is classified as essential staff and is expected to report to work and adhere to all safety and business protocols.

What you'll bring

  • 2+ years of grounds or porter experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely operate property maintenance equipment (e.g., pressure washer, leaf blower, snowblower).
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  • Good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor toward staff, prospects, residents, vendors, and all visitors of the property.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
