About the role
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED) based in Hoboken, you will play a critical role in delivering immediate and comprehensive care to patients experiencing urgent and life-threatening conditions. Your primary objective will be to assess, triage, and provide high-quality nursing interventions to stabilize patients while collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. This role demands quick decision-making, effective communication, and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about treatment plans and post-discharge care to ensure continuity and safety. Ultimately, your work will directly impact patient outcomes and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the emergency care services provided at the facility.
What you'll bring
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification or must obtain by end of orientation.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in an emergency department or acute care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Previous experience in a high-volume urban emergency department.
- Preferred skills like ACLS and PALS certifications enhance your ability to manage complex cardiac and pediatric emergencies confidently.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
