About the role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Components Test Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead and support the full Verification and Validation lifecycle of advanced avionics components and subsystems for aerospace applications. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting component-level tests across all phases—from initial board bring-up through functional testing, acceptance testing, and qualification testing—ensuring all avionics components meet performance specifications and reliability standards in demanding aerospace environments. You will collaborate closely with design, hardware, and software teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Years of experience in avionics component test engineering for aerospace applications (spaceflight, satellites, spacecraft, or similar) in line with engineering level.
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up and hardware debugging.
- Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, function generators, and logic analyzers.
- Understanding of digital and analog circuit principles.
- Experience developing test procedures and documentation.
- Proficient in developing test plans, requirements tracing, test scripts (Python, MATLAB, or similar), and test automation tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and embedded systems.
- Solid understanding of space-relevant avionics qualification and acceptance standards (e.g., NASA-STD-8739.4, ECSS, MIL-STD-1540, MIL-STD-883, NASA GEVS, or similar).
- Work Location —Successful candidates will be located near Long Beach, CA.
- While we observe a hybrid work environment, some work must be done on site.
