About the role
Under the leadership of the Director of Nutrition Services and Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Outpatient Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy (nutrition assessment, nutrition support, patient intervention and education) to meet the nutrition care needs of outpatients. The Outpatient Clinical Dietitian must be able to articulate the science of nutrition into layman's terms in one-on-one counseling sessions, group classes, and public speaking engagements, utilizing print, audio and video media. The Outpatient Clinical Dietitian must be able to interact empathetically and compassionately with a variety of patients and community outreach program participants. The Outpatient Clinical Dietitian is an active member of the health care team, and also participates in multi-disciplinary rounds, as needed. The Outpatient Clinical Dietitian must be highly accurate in meeting all documentation and billing requirements.

- The Outpatient Clinical Dietitian must be highly accurate in meeting all documentation and billing requirements.
- Fluency, the ability to communicate orally, and the ability to read and write in English.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Advanced knowledge of diet therapy and using the Nutrition Care Process format for documentation.
- Experience documenting in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) and nutrition-related programs.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required
- CDCES certification must be completed within 24 months
- Health and Wellness Coaching certifications must be within 24 months.
- Two years’ experience as a Clinical Dietitian working with patient education.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
