Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Miscellaneous Professional Lines Senior Claim Counsel in our U.S. Financial Lines Claim team. This position will complement the existing professional liability claims team that supports the U.S Sompo Financial Lines business unit. The successful candidate will be able to provide insight and analysis on complex high profile/high exposure Professional Lines/E & O claims.

What you'll bring

• Minimum of three (3)  years experience as an E & O Claims Counsel at an Insurance Company, and/or in combination with law firm experience is required
• Juris Doctor degree required
• Proven ability to provide coverage, liability and damages analysis for complex professional liability claims, specifically on insurance agent/broker, design professional and other miscellaneous classes of business
• Direct handling of complex E &O claims, primary and excess
• Strong experience attending mediations and negotiating settlements
• Professional lines policy drafting experience
• Ability to establish close working relationship with underwriting, actuarial and legal
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Candidates may be asked to provide writing samples
• Analytical, decision making and resource management skills with attention to detail
• Strong commitment to providing superior client service
