About the role
We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer for a remote forensic engineering position in a fast-paced and independent environment. The candidate will be responsible for inspecting various types of building structures to assess structural integrity, to perform cause and origin analysis of failures, and to review for compliance with building codes and industry standards. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $135,000 - $145,000 .
What you'll bring
- A current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in at least one New England state is required.
- Eight (8) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Familiarity with wood, steel, masonry, and concrete design and construction.
- Experience building envelope components and details.
- Knowledge and familiarity of applicable building and design codes and standards.
- Prefer experience specifically in failure analysis and forensic engineering
- Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.
