About the role
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will work alongside a team of experienced engineers to design, develop, and validate cutting-edge medium-voltage power electronics systems. You will design a wide range of associated parts and assemblies using a first principles design approach. Your role will involve performing a variety of tasks, including CAD, analysis, prototyping, testing, and hands-on work. You will collaborate closely with electrical, test, and manufacturing engineering teams, as well as external suppliers. - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field (and will maintain student status throughout the duration of the internship)
- Strong history of designing mechanical parts or assemblies through individual or group projects (recommend showcasing examples of past work with a website or PDF portfolio)
- Strong engineering fundamentals including a basic understanding of electronics
- Familiarity with a first principles design approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with at least one 3D CAD program (bonus if there is experience with CATIA V6/3DX)
