About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Additive Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to help transition next-generation Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) production equipment from development into high-volume manufacturing. This role helps ensure our production equipment is stable, reliable, scalable, and capable of delivering world-class safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. As our manufacturing footprint expands across multiple factories, you will solve equipment problems at the machine level and help transform those solutions into engineering standards deployed across the entire fleet. Success in this role requires strong troubleshooting skills, independent technical judgment, and the drive to grow into broader fleet-level ownership. You will work alongside senior equipment engineers to stabilize new machines, improve reliability, and build the standards that carry the fleet as it scales. As an Additive Manufacturing Equipment Engineer II , you will take technical responsibility for assigned production equipment after engineering qualification. You will work at the intersection of equipment engineering, manufacturing, quality, reliability, and operations , applying independent judgment to solve complex problems and improving standard work with input from your manager and senior engineers .
What you'll bring
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
- 4–6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, reliability engineering, or advanced production environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and/or controls systems.
- Experience with structured root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., RCCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Experience with Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) or other metal additive manufacturing technologies.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or other high-volume precision manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of AS9100, AMS, PPAP, APQP, or equivalent quality systems.
- Experience working with machine sensor data or manufacturing analytics.
- Experience with controls systems, PLCs, industrial automation, or machine integration.
