About the role
As a Technical Project Engineer – HV Substations within GE Vernova – Grid Solutions, you will lead the technical execution of High Voltage AIS/GIS switchgear projects from order handover through project completion. Acting as the engineering focal point, you will coordinate multidisciplinary technical activities, review engineering deliverables, support technical decisions, and work closely with Project Management, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Services, and customers to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions. You will work closely with Project Management, Tendering, Sourcing, Factories, Services, and our customers to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective Grid Solutions that meet contractual requirements, schedule, and quality targets, operating in a hybrid (office/remote) environment. What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional experience in power systems and HV/MV switchgear or substation engineering
- Experience with protection and control schemes, interlocking logic, and auxiliary systems.
- Ability to read, create, and review electrical documentation, including single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnection diagrams.
- Experience using engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar.
- Experience working in cross-functional, project-based environments, coordinating technical activities with Project Management, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Site teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to factories, customer sites, and test facilities.
- Understanding of HV AIS/GIS switchgear design and applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results.
- Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in digital tools and emerging Grid technologies.
- preferably within utility, EPC, TSO, or power transmission environments.
