About the role
This is a great opportunity for a strong Senior Accountant who wants to expand into international accounting, statutory reporting, and multi-currency operations while working with a collaborative global finance team. As one of three Senior Accountants at Backroads, you’ll support accounting and reporting for several European entities, working closely with internal teams in the U.S. and Europe as well as external accounting partners. This role offers meaningful exposure to international accounting, statutory reporting, and multi-currency environments, with the support needed to build expertise over time.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 + years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong general ledger accounting experience, including journal entries, accruals, reclasses, account reconciliation, and month-end close.
- Experience supporting monthly close processes with a high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to deadlines.
- Experience with intercompany transactions, reconciliations, or cross-entity accounting activity.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and strong ability to research, document, and apply accounting guidance.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external service providers, and stakeholders in different time zones.
- Strong communication skills, ownership mindset, and comfort working in a fast-paced close environment.
- Exposure to international accounting, foreign subsidiaries, or multi-currency accounting.
- Experience with foreign currency remeasurement, translation, or FX gain/loss analysis.
- Experience with consolidations, intercompany eliminations, or multi-entity reporting packages.
