About the role
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Military Engines Airworthiness Office to serve as the primary advocate for airworthiness execution on multiple programs. This role represents an exciting new approach to airworthiness at P&W, with a dedicated team devoted specifically to the airworthiness discipline, assisting programs with execution of US Government customer deliverables regarding planning and collection of artifacts that demonstrate compliance to agreed Airworthiness criteria. A successful applicant should be comfortable advocating for Airworthiness compliance in the face potential competing program priorities. This role will entail regular coordination with our US Government customers.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree
- 8+ years of experience in military Airworthiness and/or civil certification and/or engineering & requirements management
- OR an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience in military Airworthiness and/or civil certification and/or engineering.
- Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.
- Experience working with one or more gas turbine engine subsystems and familiarity with their architecture, performance, validation, and analysis.
- Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516 and related US government/industry publications, and execution of core airworthiness deliverables.
- Experience interfacing with US Government customers regarding challenging program deliverables and risk negotiation.
