About the role
The Coordinator, Volunteer Program ensures the effective engagement, coordination, and support of volunteers in alignment with Liliʻuokalani Trustʻs mission and programs needs. This role is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and supporting volunteers across LT program locations, including programs, activities, and events. The Volunteer Coordinator ensures that volunteers are effectively integrated into LT program location assignments and that their contributions are recognized and valued. This position reports directly to the Managing Director, Policy and Practice and collaborates with teammates across departments to meet volunteer needs and enhance community engagement. The Volunteer Coordinator also works closely with LTʻs Senior Leadership Team, along with other LT departments to support the success of LTʻs diverse offerings across all program locations in a manner that ensures innovation, best practice application and cultural resonance reflecting the mission, vision, and values of LT. This role is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and supporting volunteers across LT program locations, including programs, activities, and events. This position reports directly to the Managing Director, Policy and Practice and collaborates with teammates across departments to meet volunteer needs and enhance community engagement.
What you'll bring
- Minimum of 2 years experience in volunteer coordination or program support
- Familiarity with volunteer management software and scheduling tools.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of volunteers and staff.
- Organization: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Technical expertise: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
- Time management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ethics: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Developing others: Experience in training and onboarding volunteers.
- Relationship Management: Experience working in a collaborative environment with teammates at all levels
