The Instructor, Florida Scholars Academy exhibits a passion for, and dedication to, the remediation, acceleration, and academic growth of at-risk students. This position organizes and implements an instructional program resulting in students achieving academic success in accordance with state policies and laws. This position is responsible for teaching assigned academic subjects in residential facilities for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice students.

What you'll bring

• required to report to an assigned facility.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in content area assigned OR proof of active enrollment in a state-approved EPI or MAT program AND either a valid Florida state-issued Statement of Eligibility OR valid Temporary Certificate in content area assigned
• Exceptional Student Educational (ESE) Certification
• Teaching experience within subject area OR successful completion of an FLVS instructional internship program OR current enrollment in an approved EPI or MAT program
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
• Must be responsible, accountable, and self-motivated
• Demonstrated strong work ethic to achieve school goals
• Display effective prioritizing, organizing, and time-management skills
• ability to meet aggressive deadlines
• Ability to learn and apply all required and recommended computer applications to create efficiency and consistency in internal workflows and instructional practices
• Ability to function effectively in a high demand environment
