About the role
We're hiring Nectar's first VP of Sales, the founding leader of our sales function. This role will build the sales organization from the ground up alongside our founders, define how Nectar sells, and hire the team that will scale it. You'll work closely with the CEO and leadership team to translate early customer traction into a repeatable, scalable revenue engine, and you'll be the person setting the tone, process, and standards for every sales hire who follows. This role suits someone who wants to build rather than inherit: a hands-on operator who is as comfortable closing deals personally in month one as they are designing comp plans and hiring a team at the same time.
What you'll bring
- 7+ years in B2B SaaS sales, with a track record of quota-carrying success and at least 2+ years in a sales leadership role (VP, Director, or Head of Sales).
- Experience selling into marketing, brand, or e-commerce organizations
- Direct experience as an early or founding sales hire at a Series A or Series B startup
- you understand what it takes to build a function with no existing playbook.
- Proven ability to both sell personally and build/manage a team.
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and evolving priorities in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment.
- Strong command of sales fundamentals: pipeline discipline, forecasting accuracy, and CRM/data hygiene (e.g., Salesforce).
- Excellent communication and executive presence
- ability to influence founders, board members, and enterprise buyers alike.
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Experience selling AI or agentic software products.
- Existing relationships with brand, marketing, or e-commerce leaders at consumer companies.
